  5. This is a beautiful thing to hear and see-It’s great to see Andy and Barry working together again. My introduction to XTC was through Barry. I saw him play with The League of Gentlemen back in 1980 or somewhere around there. I went out and bought GO2 and never looked back. There was a fantastic, frantic energy to those first two records. I still love them and still listen to them. Thank you for this music & vid.

  6. Lovely. I particularly liked the way it got darker just after halfway. Plenty of structure there to allow you to ride along with it, but an unusual and haunting piece, got the old visual imagery going in my head! Well done all three, and so exciting to see a certain man with a guitar in his hands. Pass the tissues.

  7. Great going guys - reminds me of ‘Flow Motion’ period Can mixed with - dare I say it? - the end of ‘Super-Tuff’ from Go2 which I love!! Keep up the good work - now if you can just get Barry to persuade Colin back everything would be right with the world once more…

and as far as I am concerned, this is a much better video than all the XTC stuff : simple, classy, and interesting!

  14. a bit late 60s miles davis, ah yes, a bit of the end of ’super tuff’ but also a bit of the end of ‘blame the weather’ as well. xtc trademark somewhat dissonant jazzy vibes reminiscent of winter sunsets (to me anyway!) looking forward to more!

  15. I’m quite grooving on this stuff but I don’t know why.
    Perhaps it’s subliminally beguiling?

I shall look forward to getting this.

  18. Wow, this is realy good. I have to say when I read about this improvised instrumental project my first thought was Spinal Tap doing “Jazz Odyssey,” but happily it’s not like that at all.

  19. Very nice stuff, can’t wait to get my hands on this album. As far as the improvisation goes, does anyone know if it was done freely or with some type of chart/framework?

  24. Blech! How can this lame, boring techno-jazz-pop dreck be in any way connected to the brilliant pop of XTC? i realize artists are always reinventing themselves, but how could any XTC fan enjoy this stuff?

with Garageband, BUT - it’s Barry and Andy live. What a treat!

  35. Interesting reading the comments. The occasional person demands pork sausages after the shop has turned vegetarian. I think there may be a bit more from Andy and Barry in future, well away from the ‘Monstrance’ format. Just a hunch…..
