I am really fascinated at the comments re the way Andy works. I am also a big fan of Tori Amos; her views on sharing the creative process are the exact opposite of Andy's. Isn't music great!
And is there any chance of XTC releases on vinyl albums? I can't cope with 7" singles!
What a grouch I am!
Love the podcasts, love the last album[s]. Thanks.

Thanks for doing these podcasts / blogs. Apart from giving us further insight into your work, it encourages us to leave feedback in a way that's slightly different to the forum.

Along with the XTCfans MySpace sight, this venture into Web 2.0 is much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Istvanski.

Great too listen to this as it's interesting to learn the tricks of the trade and I have tried to do what Andy is talking about and it is great fun, laying a drum track then the bass on the 2nd track then guitar and voice on the 3rd and 4th tracks. The new album sounds good but it's not a new XTC album, and even if it's great will it sell in todays market? With the narrow minded bunch of idiots in the music world today.
Shops probably wont even sell it and give you a strange look as if you 4 heads when you ask for it!

Great stuff, as usual. You really spoil us Andy. First this podcast, then song by song at Myspace, reply after reply at the forum – and I haven´t even mentioned the music!

Another enthralling instalment, just so grateful for the chance to hear the workings of your 'skip of a brain', Andy. Surely the best and most diligent of home recorders.. please keep the podcasts coming...how about a nice one of tips on obscure XTC chords and tunings? : )

Great stuff ! I have Vol. 1-6 so far and I agree with your thoughts about other artists Like McCartney,, Lennon,,and as a singer songwriter myself its good to hear how they came about songs ,you hear all the little nooks and crannies and how they got to the finished product and you feel better about your own songs,,Where most people think they just went in the studio bing bang its done, you realize its not like that at all ,except in a few cases ( Instant Karma for one) and that its a long process, an enjoyable one at that..but hours ,days, months.. of trying this and that and finally kind of abandoning it as a Finished product. ~
