Monstrance - Andy & Barry Talk It All Through (Part One)
April 12th, 2007
Eavesdrop on Andy Partridge and Barry Andrews as they talk about everything in the known Universe and occasionally stray into discussing the marvelous Monstrance double album.

Find out how Barry met Martyn Barker, what Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre is really
made of, and their thoughts on such diverse topics as The Munsters, Norman Wisdom and Swans.
You’ll be amused, you’ll be amazed and you might even want to buy the album.

Love it! Love it! Love it! Waiting for more!
This is great! Andy and Barry are hilarious….
Excuse me, sirs, but I really enjoyed this! I hope you will post the rest of the conversation soon. Thank you. (I’m an American. Can’t you tell?)
Both in hilarious form, and some nice info on the recordings…sounds like there may be more music in future, perhaps something more ‘produced’, who knows. Great stuff, and eagerly waiting for more here…..
Brilliant! After all this talk of Andy’s woes on the XTC Forum this is a breath of fresh air! Barry & Andy are a great double act. I laughed my head off - the post-punk Pete & Dud! More please!!!

Yeah, Chris, they should just get together and hang around again, and ideas will just flow….the mind boggles about what might have been if Barry hadn’t left XTC…Monstrance starts to sketch in a few of those blanks in a tantalising way…please, guys, give it a go!! : )
What a great and hilarious conversation. I wouldn´t mind being insulted by Barry. He, he…
But I still think that English people are polite. At least compared to most Swedes.
The talk about swans reminded me about my friend Magnus that during a military exercise, in which they should survive on their own for several days in the Stockholm archipelago, desperately killed a swan to get some food. It was an hard fight to strangle it, because as Andy have experienced, swans are very aggressive. So Magnus got some wounds during the fight and just getting a grip of the long neck was a challenge…
It was also quite difficult to eat the big bird, Normally you must let the bird “hang” for at least three days, but they grilled it directly, so the meat was extremly leathery. But Magnus survived!
Sorry if that story is a little bit tasteless, but I am in that mood today…
