April 29th, 2008
Canadian singer songwriter Veda Hille’s enchanting new album ‘This Riot Life’ is widely hailed as her best yet.
In this podcast, Veda takes us on a tour through the albums songs and explains her ideas and thoughts behind the recordings.
Some of the songs from the album are based around hymns, and Veda explains, how going through her Grandmothers hymn book was a truly great source of inspiration.

A charming foray into a charming album by a charming woman who charmed me as she played live here in NYC last Sunday night!
Yeah, a fantastic album from a fantastic artist. Thanks for guiding us through it Veda. I am going to Berlin next week and will see Veda with band perform at a club called B Flat. A very nice German chap called me yesterday and confirmed that the tickets are booked! So Mitch, I know she will charm me as well!
Wow.
Very cool stuff.
Lovely podcast, and I’ve sent for the album.
Strange, fascinating and beautiful music. Interesting introduction. Thank you Veda.
