Andy Partridge Chats With John Leckie – Part 3

May 26th, 2009

Andy and John talk about the making of Psonic Psunspot at the Cornish Studio Sawmills; the Abbey Road for the Straw Dogs set.
Situated on a tidal creek this is the same studio where, having achieved the unique Dukes sound,  John subsequently recorded the legendary debut Stone Roses album.

Did you know?  on Psonic Psunspot, the sides were flipped, so the album as you hear it now was not the original running order. Find out why and much more…

  1. Thanks for this final installment Andy and John.

Andy, any chance of any more podcasts/chats, either just yourself or with other guests? I really enjoyed this one, and the three-parter with Barry to promote the Monstrance release a while ago (not to mention the much-missed ‘How They Came To Be’ series).

Whether you talk about XTC/music-related stuff or perhaps something else, I’m nevertheless sure plenty of people would like to listen!

    Adrian.

  2. Yes, a psychedelic feast x 3. Many thanks Sir John Johns and Swami Anand Nagara!

  3. I LOVE these…as a recovering musician, I can’t get enough of the grubby, cheeky behind-the-scenes view of the making of my favorite albums! Andy is a born DJ—or would it be PJ—podcast jockey? And if Elvis C can have his own chat show, I think Andy would be amazing!
